Principal Safety Adviser – Scotland

Full-time | Competitive salary | Remote-based
The Building Safety Group (BSG) is seeking a Principal Safety Adviser (PSA) who will report directly to the Regional Manager, for the day-to-day operation of the area and team.

The PSA will be required to:

  • Ensure the Area and Team meet financial targets and operates within the financial budgets
  • To be fully conversant with, to advise on, and implement the Health and Safety at Work Act, Data Protection Act, Employment Law and other relevant legislation
  • Ensure the Safety Advisers manage their areas effectively
  • To carry out Safety Inspections of Construction Sites, Workshops or Offices
  • Carry out health and safety audits of member companies
  • Ensure members are kept up to date on Health & Safety Legislation, good practices and HSE initiatives and campaigns

The ideal candidate for this role would:

  • Hold the NEBOSH General & Construction Certificates
  • Be a Graduate Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health
  • Hold a NVQ Level 5 in Occupational Safety qualification
  • Have previous experience of Health and Safety within the construction Industry
  • Hold a current “Safety Professionals” CSCS Card
  • Will have completed a recognised training course (BSG or equivalent) in each of the following: CDM 2015, Scaffold Inspection & Appreciation, Working at Height, Confined Space, Accident Reporting, Mobile Tower Scaffold, Asbestos Awareness, Manual Handling, Construction Environmental Management, Abrasive Wheel, Directors Responsibilities

This is a full-time, remote-based position, covering the Scottish regions. We are offering a competitive salary, matched contributory pension scheme, and 26 days holiday per annum. A full current driving license is essential.

Management Accountant

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Management Accountant to join our well-established organisation, seeking further growth. This role is focused on supporting the Managing Director in the production of financial management information for the Business.

The candidate will be required to manage and lead our Accounts team and to have significant experience in the following key areas:

  • To produce timely, accurate managment information
  • To consolidate budget and forecast/business plan information
  • To perform key reconciliation tasks
  • To assist with Year End processes and statutory accounts preparation

The position will also require a good level of general accounts experience and be able to undertake a variety of accounting tasks, have a good knowledge of Sage, Excel, and Microsoft. This role will suit a highly organised and efficient individual with outstanding communication skills, as you will be the first point of contact for internal and external clients with payment or invoice queries.

Ideally, the applicant would possess a Level 3 AAT qualification and have a good working understanding of Sage 50.
