SIP Accreditations & The Building Safety Act
Following the introduction of The Building Safety Act, more of our members are being asked to supply information about work which falls within scope of the new legislation, especially when applying for SSIP accreditations.
For example, the latest set of Common Assessment Standard questions asks: Does your company work on, or intend to work on, any projects in-scope of the Building Safety Act? Section 22.
Subsequently, we are advising BSG members to think carefully when answering this type of question. If you have no plans to work on any ‘Higher Rise Buildings’ (HRB) then you should answer ‘no’ and move on to the next section.
You should only tick ‘yes’ if your company will be working on HRB(s) that fall within projectscope of the BSA. In which case, you will be asked to provide evidence of the ‘Management System’ you intend to implement that will satisfy regulations.
