BSG’s refresher’ course will enable current SSSTS certificate holders to renew their qualification. The course can only be attended by those who have passed the two day course and provided evidence.
Who is it for?
This refresher course is for delegates who have previously passed the two-day (SSSTS) course and can provide proof of attendance. The qualification expires after 5 years, but it is recommended by the CITB that you should refresh after 3 years due to ongoing legislation changes.
What will you learn?
The aim of the course is to help delegates to improve their awareness of recent developments in construction, legislation and health, safety, welfare and environmental issues.
By attending and completing this course you will:
- Be aware of, and able to implement all updated health, safety, welfare and environmental legislation which affects them in their role as a supervisor
- Be aware of and able to implement new guidance and industry best practice affected by changes
- Be more aware of their duties and responsibilities with regard to health, safety, welfare and the environment.
Successful candidates can go on to complete the 5 day Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) course designed for site managers and supervisors.

Classroom set up
The course will be run at BSG’s Training Centre based in Bristol (BS35 3QH). The classroom will be set up in strict accordance with government covid 19 guidelines which will include hand sanatising stations and floor graphics so that social distancing is maintained at all times during the course.
